Travel rules

Unfortunately, the transport of electric bicycles and scooters on our buses is prohibited, regardless of size, for safety reasons related to the batteries with which they are powered.

Yes, you can transport a folding bicycle provided it fits within the dimensions indicated for luggage 50x30x25 cm and is placed in a bag that inhibits potentially dangerous parts.

If at the time of inspection you do not have your subscription with you, you must present the following documentation within 5 days from the date of the report, in original if hand-delivered to Cotral stations, or front and back copy if sent by email to ufficio.ricorsi@cotralspa.it:

– Validated monthly subscription prior to the sanction, plus a photocopy of a €10.00 deposit to c/cp 1001517604 made out to Cotral Spa, specifying in the reason for payment “procedure costs” and the report number;
– Annual subscription with related purchase contract if in paper form, plus a photocopy of a €10.00 deposit to c/cp 1001517604 made out to Cotral Spa, specifying in the reason for payment “procedure costs” and the report number;
– Subsidized or free circulation card, plus a photocopy of a €10.00 deposit to c/cp 1001517604 made out to Cotral Spa, specifying in the reason for payment “procedure costs” and the report number.

You can buy it directly from the bus driver, at a cost of €7.00, payable exclusively in cash.

As defined by our General Conditions of Transport, the failure or irregular operation of the ticket validator must be immediately reported to the driver or company staff, and the customer is required to write down the vehicle number, date, and time of boarding on the travel title, having it stamped by the driver. Otherwise, the verifier may impose a fine on the passenger.

Children under one meter in height travel free on all our buses, one per accompanying adult, provided they do not occupy a seat. Strollers and prams must be folded and fit within the specified limits. In the Municipality of Rome, all children under the age of 10 travel for free.

Each additional piece of luggage beyond the first is subject to the normal travel fare.

Allowed for free are:

– Hand luggage with dimensions approximately 50x30x25 cm, which can be placed under the seats;
– Small-sized luggage that can be stored in the overhead compartment;
– Hand luggage larger than 50x30x25 cm, which, if not storable under the seats, must be placed in the bus’s luggage compartment. This is only valid for journeys from terminal to terminal and is free for one piece of luggage per person.
No luggage may occupy a seat.
Packages with sharp edges or corners and packages made of flammable or fragile materials are not allowed. For other specifics, refer to L.R. n. 52 of 3.12.1982.
For safety reasons, travelers must report any unattended items found on vehicles and at the departure and arrival terminals to Cotral staff.

Cats and birds are allowed provided they are transported in cages or baskets no larger than 40x30x30 cm. Animals, cages, and containers during transport must be kept in a way that does not cause annoyance or damage to people or property. Passengers accompanying animals are responsible and will be required to compensate for any damages caused to the vehicle, property, or other travelers.

Guide dogs for the visually impaired are admitted free of charge, provided they are muzzled. If you have a small or medium-sized dog, it must be leashed and muzzled with a basket muzzle.
No more than two dogs per vehicle are allowed, provided they travel exclusively in the rear of the bus.
Large dogs (or other animals) are not allowed.
